You help these youth by creating a safe environment for their individual growth.
You participate in activities such as clubs, mealtimes, and character education with the students.
Additionally, you support students in their afternoon and evening clubs and activities.
You maintain a log of students' behavior and submit the log at the end of each shift.
When needed, you give corrections.
You are consistent and apply your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to your work.
Because you provide direct mentoring, you are able to ensure that safety and containment are maintained at all times.
Though your youth development job is extremely satisfying, it also has its challenges.
You patiently follow protocols in maintaining discipline among students.
Your empathy comes through in your interactions with each participant that you work with, but you also maintain proper professional boundaries at all times.
